College Football Playoff 2015: Date, Start Time, TV Schedule for Rankings Reveal

Steven CookNov 9, 2015

The Top 25 rankings are quick to come out on the heels of every college football weekend, but now that it's November, folks have to wait until Tuesday night for the only poll that truly matters.

The College Football Playoff's second edition of their Top 25 rankings come out Tuesday night, and some shakeup is guaranteed after two of the top four from the initial installment faced off on the gridiron. Take a look below for information on how to catch the rankings reveal show, and who you might be able to expect in the four esteemed spots. They're in no particular order so we don't have to offend as many folks (an impossible ask, I know).

Clemson Tigers

Those hooting and hollering about whether Clemson should have tipped the scales in the initial CFP rankings are likely a lot quieter following Saturday's turn of events.

The Tigers got perhaps their toughest test of the entire season Saturday, and overcame it, toppling the Florida State Seminoles 23-13 and officially etching their place as the ACC's top squad. It's Clemson's first 9-0 start since 1981, when it also won the national title.

The only surprise that Clemson could give us from here on out is if it didn't run the table and enter the CFP as one of the top dogs. The Tigers finish the season at Syracuse, home to Wake Forest and at South Carolina before facing North Carolina in the ACC title game.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Some want to compare their 2015 season to that of Florida State last year, who backpedaled their way into the CFP before getting trounced in the semifinal. But all that really matters is that the Buckeyes keep winning.

Head coach Urban Meyer and Co. added another win to the slate Saturday, defeating Minnesota 28-14. Ever so casually, Meyer's start to his tenure in Columbus has been historically great, as Brett McMurphy of ESPN.com noted:

While Clemson looks guaranteed to run the table, the same can't be said of Ohio State by any means. The Buckeyes have both Michigan State and Michigan left on the schedule, showing that their championship resolve will be proved one way or another in the coming weeks.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Does anyone still want to moan and complain about the Alabama Crimson Tide's spot among the top four teams? Anybody?

Didn't think so. Perhaps the Tide didn't deserve to be there last week, but they'll undoubtedly be deserving this week after their emphatic win over previously unbeaten LSU—second in the CFP's initial rankings.

All of a sudden, Alabama is in the driver's seat of the SEC and a few wins away from another one-loss season that will have head coach Nick Saban and crew firmly in the CFP hunt. All that will matter, then, is that they remember what happened in a similar position last year.

Baylor Bears

Say all you want about Baylor's schedule—or lack thereof—and how the Bears haven't played anybody. If you still don't have them in the CFP top four by this point, you're really making a concerted effort not to.

Sure, Baylor's Thursday night win over Kansas State wasn't all that impressive. But it showed the loss of quarterback Seth Russell won't doom them, as Jarrett Stidham filled in well and showed the offense won't skip a beat.

If you really want to argue this, save your breath. It's safe to say that if Baylor runs the table on its gauntlet end-of-season schedule—Oklahoma, at Oklahoma State, at TCU and Texas—the Bears will be in.
