UEFA Youth League 2015 Results: Wednesday Scores, Latest Group Tables, Fixtures

Tom SunderlandNov 4, 2015

Arsenal remain unbeaten in their 2015-16 UEFA Youth League campaign after clinching a 1-1 draw in Wednesday's trip to Bayern Munich and retaining their perch atop Group F.

The Gunners aren't the only London outfit with a spotless record in the competition, however, following Chelsea's 3-1 win at home to Dynamo Kiev that saw them keep a three-point cushion at the head of Group G.

Meanwhile, Roma's 5-1 win over former Group E leaders Bayer Leverkusen allowed Barcelona to take the pool's perch as their own following a 2-0 victory against BATE Borisov, their second Youth League win of the season.

Recap

Ismael Bennacer scored his first goal in Arsenal colours on Wednesday as the Frenchman thundered home to cancel out Fabian Benko's opener for Bayern Munich in German territory.

A week after making his first-team debut in the League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, the 17-year-old grabbed an audacious equaliser for his new club, leaving Gunners youth writer Jeorge Bird impressed:

Ben Sheaf was also in last week's squad against the Owls and had the chance to pull Arsenal ahead with a 43rd-minute penalty, but he missed from the spot as three points went begging for the English side.

Bayern's youngsters will just be happy to have picked up their first point of the Youth League season, and while the Gunners stay top of Group F, the match could have been their chance to stretch a lead.

Still sitting just three points behind the Gunners come Dinamo Zagreb, who maintained a 100 percent away record in Europe this season with a confident 3-1 win at Olympiakos, where Amer Gojak scored two for the Croats.

Back in the capital, a second-half Tammy Abraham brace led Chelsea to a 3-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev after Miro Muheim netted the only goal of the opening 45 minutes, with Olexiy Schcebetun initially levelling for the Ukrainian visitors.

Joshua Grant set up Abraham's first before UEFA reporter Trevor Haylett pointed out Kyle Scott's hand in his second, and a second win over Dynamo now means the Blues have qualified from Group G:

Barcelona's place in the next round is far from assured, but Carles Alena's brace in the 2-0 win over BATE has put them in the Group E driving seat for the first time.

They now sit one point above Leverkusen whose 5-1 defeat to Roma on Wednesday saw their unbeaten run come to an end in mightily embarrassing fashion. The Blaugrana's official Twitter account showed its pride for the youth team's triumph:

Nigerian starlet Umar was in fine firing form for the Italian outfit as he wrapped up a hat-trick haul in the space of half an hour against Leverkusen, notching his first in the 27th minute and his third strike in the 57th.

The Giallorossi are now just two points off the Germans in Group E thanks to that timely win, while Lyon and Valencia claimed big victories over Zenit St Petersburg and Gent, respectively, to continue their duel atop Group H.

They remain level on nine points apiece after Lyon thumped Russian outfit Zenit 6-0, while Los Che claimed a 4-0 victory in their trip to Belgium.

Elsewhere, Porto took full advantage of Dynamo's slip against Chelsea, beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1 to stay with three points of Group G leaders Chelsea and take second place for the time being.
