Barack Obama Reportedly Expected to Attend Cavaliers vs. Bulls Opener
The NBA opens its season Tuesday night, much to the delight of its fans around the world and for one very special Chicago Bulls fan.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com, United States President and avid Chicago sports fan, Barack Obama, will be in attendance at the United Center to see his Bulls take on the defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers' best player and face of the NBA, LeBron James, is reveling in the fact that POTUS will be watching him play:
"[For] the president of the United States to grace us on opening night in Chicago, I'm just honored. Something I can tell my kids a long, long time from now. I'll actually be able to have the film showing them -- kids don't believe me sometimes -- I'll be able to show them the film that the president of the United States was at a ballgame I played in. That's pretty cool.
"
Per McMenamin, Obama has taken in an NBA game once before during his presidency, a 2009 matchup between the Washington Wizards and his Bulls in the nation's capital.
