Zach Mettenberger, Kendall Wright's Fantasy Outlook with Marcus Mariota Out
Zach Mettenberger is set to replace the injured Marcus Mariota at quarterback for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday as they take on the Atlanta Falcons. The change leaves very little upside for the team's fantasy football assets, led by Kendall Wright, in Week 7.
Mariota suffered a sprained MCL on a low hit from Miami Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon. The Titans announced Friday that head coach Ken Whisenhunt ruled him out of this week's game after the prized rookie fell short in his attempt to make a rapid recovery.
In turn, barring a desperate situation, it's best to avoid the main pieces of the Titans passing game in both seasonal and daily leagues for at least one week.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Zach Mettenberger
Mettenberger appeared in seven games for Tennessee last season as a rookie after getting drafted in the sixth round. His numbers were merely mundane, as he completed a shade under 60 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
All told, he finished the season with a 23.1 QBR, per ESPN, and that lack of success was one of several reasons the Titans opted to draft Mariota. But the LSU product is looking forward to another chance at proving himself, as noted by Jim Wyatt of the team's official site.
"I'm excited for the opportunity," Mettenberger said. "The important thing is we go out there and try and get a team win, and that is really my job. It doesn't matter who is out there pulling the trigger. Everyone expects you to win a football game and that is what we have been working toward this week."
Tennessee will hope he's made enough progress to at least provide it with average play from the game's most important position.
There's a lot of uncertainty, however, and that creates too much risk from a fantasy perspective. Even against the 29th-ranked pass defense, he still isn't worth a one-week look due to his lack of prior production and the offense's lackluster start.
Kendall Wright
Wright and Mettenberger played in five full games with each other last season. Only one of those resulted in a good fantasy performance for the receiver. He caught seven passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in Week 13.
Beyond that, his best outing with No. 7 under center was four catches for 70 yards. His averages over those other games were three catches for 51 yards, and he didn't score any touchdowns.
Furthermore, the one start-worthy outing came at the end of their playing time together. Rebuilding that connection is going to take more than some limited duty last week and a few practices. So it's hard to imagine a high-volume afternoon for the wideout.
Starting Wright basically amounts to taking a flyer on the 20 percent chance he can replicate his Week 13 showing from last season. There should be better options available in most leagues.
