The fortunes of both clubs could not be more different at present, but in one of Mexico's great domestic battles, either team can win the Clasico.
Chivas started the season poorly but travel to the Azteca having won their last two games. America have found their groove as they hunt for another Liga MX championship, and they will be looking to make a point against the Goats.
Both teams are by far the most popular club sides in their country, with neither having ever played its football outside of the Mexican top flight.

However, Chivas now sit on the edge of the indignity of relegation, and if the Eagles hammer the first nail in their coffin, it will be all the more painful.
Club America have won six of their nine league matches as they chase Leon at the desirable end of the table.
The Sacred Herd, meanwhile, know a win will not only improve morale but could also take them to the top half of the league.
The fixture was once a battle of evenly matched super clubs, but America have raced away as Chivas tread water.

Tom Marshall and Andrea Canales of ESPN FC concluded the visitors will find life tough on Saturday, even though America striker Dario Benedetto is due to miss the game:
"Club America at full-strength is a formidable opponent, however. Even missing a deadly striker like Dario Benedetto to suspension shouldn't matter much when Oribe Peralta is there to take up the slack. The difference will be made in the attacking third of the field, and that's where Club America has been quite dynamic thus far. Andres Andrade is a young sparkplug who wears defenses down. Darwin Quintero can run all day, even if he's still missing the final component of putting the ball into the net.
"
On paper, Chivas are unlikely to find a way of beating the Eagles at the Azteca. But in this type of matchup—with so much pride at stake—the struggling giants could pull out a huge victory to rip up the form book.
However, America, with their superior arsenal, are deservedly the favourites and will be confident of outscoring the Goats whether they perform at their best or not.
