Premier League Week 7 Fixtures: EPL TV Schedule, Live Stream and Picks

Rory MarsdenSep 25, 2015

Manchester City's first league defeat of the season last time out, against West Ham United, halted the Sky Blues' early progression, but they remain the team to catch at the top of the table.

Manuel Pellegrini's side will look to bounce back in Week 7 after their 2-1 defeat to the Hammers, but they face a tough trip to White Hart Lane to face a Tottenham Hotspur side that has not lost in the league since the opening day of the season.

Should City fail to win in Saturday's early fixture, Manchester United could leapfrog their neighbours into top spot with a win over bottom-of-the-table Sunderland.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City

City looked close to perfect in the first five matches of the season, boasting a flawless record of five straight wins in which they conceded no goals.

However, two 2-1 home losses on the bounce—the first to Juventus in the Champions League—have shown they are fallible, although they did bounce back with a 4-1 midweek thrashing of Sunderland in the League Cup.

Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were all on the scoresheet against the Black Cats, and Pellegrini will be looking for his attacking trio to be clinical against a Spurs defence that has not conceded in three league games.

City are expected to be buoyed by the likely return of some key players from injury, per ESPN FC's Ben Dinnery:

The visitors are undoubtedly the stronger outfit, but Spurs have proved resilient so far this season and will be looking to respond to their League Cup defeat to archrivals Arsenal on Wednesday.

Their main concern is goalscoring, with key striker Harry Kane enduring an alarming barren spell, per Squawka:

However, Saturday's clash is a huge opportunity for Mauricio Pochettino's side to prove their mettle in front of their home fans.

Despite City's immense attacking power, Spurs are organised and have the defensive form to claim a result against the league leaders.

Prediction: 1-1

Liverpool vs. Aston Villa

Liverpool and Villa are two of the most out-of-form sides in the Premier League, and both will be desperate for a win on Merseyside.

As noted by Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe, both teams have been hugely disappointing so far this term, but a victory on Saturday could provide the boost that allows one of them to kick on:

Liverpool's defensive vulnerability is nothing new—they have been leaking goals for the past couple of seasons—but their attacking malaise this season has been concerning.

Having invested in the likes of Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke in the summer, a great deal more flair was expected from them going forward, especially with Daniel Sturridge finally returning from injury.

However, they have been abject in front of goal, and the last time they scored more than one goal in a competitive match was against Queens Park Rangers in May, per Squawka

In Villa, though, they face a side that has garnered just one point from its last five league games, although they should be heartened by their midweek derby victory over Birmingham City in the League Cup.

In the corresponding fixture last season, Villa snatched a 1-0 win courtesy of an early goal from Gabriel Agbonlahor.

If Tim Sherwood's Villans want a similar result on Saturday, an early strike will likely be necessary again so they can shut up shop and attempt to frustrate Liverpool's misfiring attack.

However, with both sides so desperate for a victory—but also looking to avoid another defeat—a draw seems an inevitability.

Prediction: 1-1
