Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard both scored in the second half to give Chelsea a 2-0 win over Arsenal, who finished the match with nine players after Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla both saw red cards.
Saturday's clash was a frantic affair with multiple on-pitch incidents, usually involving Diego Costa. The Chelsea striker clashed with Laurent Koscielny on multiple occasions and got under the Gunners' skin so much that Paulista kicked out at him, forcing Mike Dean to brandish the red card. The Daily Mirror's John Cross summarised his afternoon:
Arsenal didn't play well and were caught out by superior tactics from the Blues, who took full advantage of every stoppage and play and the growing frustrations among the Gunners. Zouma was left wide open to head home from close range, and Hazard put the match to rest with a deflected shot.
As shared by the Guardian's Daniel Taylor, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger took aim at Dean and Costa after the match:
Pundits did not, however. The Gunners appeared ill-prepared to deal with Chelsea's physical approach, and they created far too little danger to ever trouble the hosts at Stamford Bridge.
For a team with title aspirations, the Gunners were simply lacking, and the Daily Telegraph's Henry Winter pointed the finger at Wenger:
Chelsea loanee Victor Moses opened the score with a stunning strike and Diafra Sakho made it 2-0 just after the half-hour mark, and despite a goal from summer signing De Bruyne, City were unable to turn around the situation, losing 2-1 to West Ham.
The result sees the Hammers rise to second place in the standings, just three points behind the Citizens, and cracks the title race wide open once again. Manchester United can close the gap to their rivals to just two points with a win over Southampton on Sunday.

Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy continued their impressive scoring pace, pulling Leicester City level with Stoke City after Bojan Krkic and Jonathan Walters had given the hosts a two-goal lead after just 20 minutes.
The Foxes have been in excellent form early in the 2015-16 campaign and were likely hoping for a win at the Britannia Stadium, but after falling behind 2-0 early, taking a point is never a bad thing. Meanwhile, the Potters still sit in the relegation zone, having won just three points from six matches, and Saturday's result was undoubtedly a missed opportunity.
Kevin Mirallas managed to get himself sent off two minutes after replacing Ross Barkley in Everton's scoreless draw against Swansea City, and there's a good chance the Belgian will miss the Toffees' clash with rivals Liverpool in Week 8 as a result.
As shared by ESPN FC's Ben Dinnery, manager Roberto Martinez plans to appeal the red card:
Mirallas planted his studs into the ankle of Modou Barrow after going over the ball, and the chances of the suspension being overturned appear minimal.
Saido Berahino scored the only goal in West Bromwich Albion's 1-0 win at Aston Villa, while Bournemouth continued their solid start with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. The Black Cats have endured a nightmare start to the season, and goals from Callum Wilson and Matt Ritchie will only put more pressure on manager Dick Advocaat.
Odion Ighalo scored twice to give Watford a 2-1 win at St. James' Park, with Daryl Janmaat scoring Newcastle United's lone goal. Similar to Sunderland, the Magpies are in serious trouble early in the season, and things won't get any easier when they meet a reinvigorated Chelsea in Week 7.
