76ers' Tyrese Maxey Jokes About LeBron James' Helicopter Ride Amid His Own Car Troubles

One Philadelphia 76ers starter had notably less success getting home from Tuesday's practice than his new superstar teammate.

Tyrese Maxey laughed Wednesday about hearing LeBron James take off in a helicopter after practice while he was waiting outside the facility due to car issues.

"I ain't gonna lie, that was funny," Maxey told reporters. "One of left in a helicopter, the other one was sitting on the curb."

ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported James was taking the helicopter to New York City, where he plans to spend time when not in Philadelphia.

According to the AP's Dan Gelston, James took off in his helicopter as Maxey "sat out outside on a curb and reporters considered offering him a ride somewhere."

The 76ers are preparing to begin the preseason next Monday. James is set to make his regular-season debut in one of the two cities he's living in next season when the Sixers play Oct. 20 at Madison Square Garden against the defending champion New York Knicks.
