LeBron James Using Helicopter to Commute from Philadelphia to New York After Joining 76ers

After completing his first training camp practice with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, LeBron James went back to his home in New York in style.

Per ESPN's Dave McMenamin, James' helicopter was heard taking off outside of the Sixers' practice facility while Anfernee Simons was talking to the media after Tuesday's practice.

One of the questions that came up when James agreed to join the Sixers as a free agent this summer was where he would take up residence.

It was confirmed on Monday that James plans to split his time between New York City and Philadelphia during the 2026-27 NBA season. The 95-mile commute can take roughly 90 minutes to two hours by car.

A helicopter flight between the two cities can take around 40-45 minutes.

Fans will get their first look at James in a game with the Sixers on Oct. 5 when they host the defending NBA champion New York Knicks in the preseason opener for both teams.

James' first regular-season game as a member of the 76ers will also be against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20.
