Tennessee to Offer Half-Price Alcohol, Concessions Menu Ahead of Matchup with Arch Manning, Texas

Tennessee is rewarding early arrivals to Saturday's matchup against No. 1 Texas with discounted morning beers.

Fans who get to Neyland Stadium early will be able to purchase half-priced concessions including alcohol from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Tennessee announced Friday.

The Volunteers noted parking lots open at 6 a.m., about six hours before the game's 12:10 p.m. kickoff.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. ET, half an hour earlier than the usual 9:30 a.m. ET opening for noon kickoffs, per Emmett Siegel of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

The promotion marks Tennessee joining the Knoxville Police Department in encouraging fans to arrive "significantly" earlier than normal because of President Donald Trump's expected attendance at the game.

Roads around the stadium will be closed starting at 5 a.m., according to WATE 6's Hannah Moore.

Knoxville and University of Tennessee police previously announced fans should expect traffic delays and "TSA-style" security screening leading to longer wait times outside the stadium.

Adding to the chaos will be ESPN's College GameDay, which is set to broadcast from the Tennessee campus starting at 9 a.m. before moving into the stadium around 11 a.m. The GameDay pit is set to open at 6:30 a.m.

The Volunteers encouraged fans to check social media channels for the city of Knoxville as well as Tennessee police and athletics in order to keep up-to-date on any game-day delays.

The Tennessee campus won't be the only area impacted by this weekend's matchup between top-15 teams.

McGhee Tyson Airport, located nearby Knoxville in Alcoa, announced earlier this week Sunday is expected to be the busiest travel day in the airport's history due to the game and fall break.

Arch Manning and the Longhorns are looking to defend their No. 1 ranking in their first ever regular-season meeting against the Volunteers, which are led by true freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon. Both SEC teams are undefeated heading into the matchup.
