ESPN College GameDay 2026 TV Schedule, Predictions and Location for Week 3

ESPN's College GameDay regularly presents the marquee matchups of college football, though the highlight games themselves have been a big of a mixed bag in 2026.

Last week's thriller between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Texas Longhorns was one of the best games of the year to date and was a potential playoff preview. The Week 1 "battle" between LSU and Clemson, on the other hand, yielded a 51-10 blowout LSU victory.

LSU will be back in the spotlight this week with a game that should be much more competitive. The seventh-ranked Tigers are set to visit No. 9 Mississippi in a game that features storylines galore.

Mississippi QB Trinidad Chambliss

Saturday night's matchup between LSU and Mississippi is big for a couple of different reasons. For starters, it's a battle between SEC contenders and College Football Playoff (CFP) hopefuls.

LSU and Mississippi are ranked seventh and ninth, respectively, in the coaches poll.

Of course, the bigger storyline is the fact that the game marks Lane Kiffin's highly anticipated return to Oxford. Kiffin left Mississippi before last year's CFB to take the head-coaching gig at LSU. Players like Princewill Umanmielen and assistants like Charlie Weis Jr. soon followed.

While Kiffin has embraced the role of college football's villain since making the jump, not every Ole Miss player is holding a grudge.

"Still my guy. Just a great head coach, can't hold it against him. We're all still cool," receiver Deuce Alexander said, per Sam Hutchins of the Clarion Ledger.

You can bet, though, that the fans will be ready to give Kiffin an unpleasant homecoming. Much of the game will hinge on how the Tigers deal with the rowdy Mississippi crowd.

On paper, LSU appears well positioned to get the road win. It features a dominant pass rush that can pressure Trinidad Chambliss early and often, and it has enough speed at receiver to constantly threaten a suspect Rebels secondary. Tigers quarterback Sam Leavitt is a top-tier signal-caller in his own right and should be able to handle the hostile environment.

Of course, Mississippi has Chambliss, college football's magic man and arguably the top quarterback playing in 2026. The prediction here is that LSU commands the action early, but Chambliss leads a late surge for a miracle come-from-behind victory.

It'll be a close one, and we may well see a rematch during the playoff, but Chambliss and the Rebels faithful could be too much for Kiffin to overcome.
