Team USA enters the knockout rounds today with a matchup against Hungary in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup.

The United States went 3-0 in the group stage, thanks to their ball movement, 2-point scoring and athleticism defensively. The biggest weakness so far has been the 3-point shooting, with Team USA knocking down just 29 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc.

Hungary is coming off a 21-point win over Japan yesterday to advance to the quarterfinals. They struggled in their one matchup against a top opponent, though, losing to France by 46 points. 

Hungary is led by their frontcourt of 6'4" Virag Takacs-Kiss and 6'5" Dorka Juhasz, who combine for nearly half of the team's points and rebounds.
