Hungary began the World Cup with a blowout loss to France before bouncing back with wins over Nigeria, Korea and Japan on their way to the quarterfinals.

France shot 62.5 percent from the field in that tournament-opening victory.

Leaning on stars who can contribute that same kind of efficient offense, like Paige Bueckers and her 59.1 percent shooting rate from the field, could be key to the United States' hopes of making it past Hungary and into the semifinals.

Germany similarly opened the tournament with a big loss to Spain before bouncing back with wins over Japan, Mali and Korea.

Belgium, which has cruised to double-digit wins over Turkïye, Puerto Rico and Austria, arguably presents Germany's toughest opponent of the tournament so far.

Leonie Fiebich recorded three blocks in Tuesday's win over Korea. More strong defense from Fiebich and a supportive home crowd could help Germany stymy one of the tournament's highest-scoring teams.
