In the wake of the Los Angeles Lakers' minicamp in Slovenia hosted by Luka Dončić, Jarred Vanderbilt has provided some insights into the trip.

Vanderbilt posted a video on his Instagram documenting the team's journey that included meeting fans, playing golf, sight-seeing and swimming.

Dončić, who is from Slovenia, reportedly chartered a plane for 14 members of the Lakers. They also received gift bags, were treated to a meal at Dončić's favorite restaurant and went fishing at Lake Bled.

The trip lasted for five days and was intended to be a team-bonding exercise for a Lakers squad that has undergone significant changes in the offseason, including a surprise agreement by Mark Walter to sell the franchise just 10 months after his purchase was approved by the NBA board of governors.

LeBron James' departure left no doubt that Dončić is the face of the franchise now and into the future. The Lakers also signed Austin Reaves to a four-year, $185 million contract and gave Walker Kessler a four-year, $130 million deal in a sign-and-trade with the Utah Jazz.

Time will tell if those big investments pay off for the Lakers, but Dončić took the initiative this summer to make sure this team can be as closely bonded as possible going into the 2026-27 season.
