Arch Manning Jokes About Falling Over Videographer in Viral Video During Texas' Smoke Entrance

Arch Manning took a scary fall during Texas' pregame smoke entrance on Saturday, but the quarterback was able to laugh it off after the fact.

"It was definitely a little bit of a shock. I was definitely thrown off," he told reporters. "It's hard to see in that smoke. It's a little deceiving. But it was good, first hit before the game starts and get ready to roll."

Manning certainly avoided the worst after tripping over the videographer. A non-football injury to start the season would have thrown a wrench in Texas' plans to compete for a national championship.

Instead, Manning bounced right back up and put together a tremendous outing. He threw for 304 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the 59-7 win over Texas State, exiting in the third quarter after the Longhorns amassed a comfortable lead.

Expectations are high for Manning as he enters his second season as the team's starter. He is currently tied with Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith and Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss for the second-best odds to win the Heisman, per FanDuel Sportsbook, only behind Miami quarterback Darian Mensah.

Manning is coming off a season in which he recorded 3,163 yards, 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions, adding 399 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground. It was a strong start to his time as Texas' starter, but he'll hope for more success this year.

Manning and the Longhorns will get a major test next week as they face top-ranked Ohio State at home. The Buckeyes beat Texas last year, so Manning is looking for a revenge win.

"It's not all the time you get a second chance to play another team after a rough loss," Manning told reporters. "So we're all excited for the opportunity. I think we've all grown mentally and physically."

Of course, Manning will have to avoid taking any hits in the tunnel this time around.
