Tennessee linebacker Arion Carter is spinning his one-game suspension into a positive.

The senior told Volquest's Austin Price he plans to donate $427 for each his tackles toward cancer research and treatments. The amount matches the cost of a flight he received that drew discipline from the NCAA.

Carter's planned donations go beyond his tackle count. He's also pledging sums based on his sacks ($500), forced turnovers ($1,000) and defensive touchdowns ($5,000).

Price noted his overall total would've exceeded $30,000 based on his 2025 production. Carter was third on the team in tackles with 76 and added 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

The Smyrna, Tennessee, native watched from the sideline as the Vols cruised past Furman, 56-9, in their opener. True freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon went 13-of-17 for 226 yards and three touchdowns.

A road matchup against Georgia Tech in Week 2 will present a much tougher test, so having Carter return will be a nice boost to the defense.
