Lamar Jackson Gives Pep Talk in Video to Louisville Ahead of CFB Season-Opener vs. Ole Miss

Lamar Jackson is doing what he can for his alma mater ahead of a highly anticipated showdown with an SEC opponent.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback had a message for Louisville before Sunday's game against Ole Miss and said, "hard work, dedication, you guys have been busting behinds since camp started. All the summer workouts. Now the season's here, let's start the season off right."

Jackson started at quarterback for the Cardinals for three seasons from 2015 through 2017 and took home the Heisman Trophy in his second year when he threw for 3,543 yards and 30 touchdowns to go with 1,571 yards and 21 scores on the ground.

It was a stunning 63-20 victory over No. 2 Florida State early in that season that truly put Jackson on the national radar as a Heisman contender, and this year's Cardinals have a chance to make an early statement as well.

After all, Ole Miss is No. 9 in the country and coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal game.

Defeating a potential SEC contender would be quite the way to start off the season and give Louisville a victory that would carry plenty of weight when the 12-team CFP field is debated.

Jackson will surely be watching to see if his pep talk turns into a victory.
