Former UCLA guard Donovan Dent committed to LSU in the transfer portal on Friday, according to Joe Tipton of On3.com.

Dent appeared in 35 games for UCLA last season before he applied for a fifth year of eligibility in July.

Dent was among 73 players in California granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA to effectively receive a fifth year of eligibility.

Dent helped UCLA finish with a 24-12 record last season, advancing to the second round of the 2026 NCAA tournament.

He averaged 13.3 points and 2.9 rebounds to go along with 1.7 steals per game while shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 25.4 percent from three-point territory.

Dent also ranked No. 3 in the country by averaging 7.6 assists on a nightly basis.

He previously suited up for Mexico State from 2022-25, recording 13.5 points and 4.7 assists per game throughout his tenure at the school.

Now, he'll be joining his former UCLA teammate at LSU after guard Skyy Clark announced his decision to transfer from the Bruins to the Tigers on Aug. 12.

LSU is attempting to take a step forward with Will Wade back at head coach, hiring him once again after firing head coach Matt McMahon at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The Tigers have compiled a 60-70 record over the past four years, failing to make a March Madness appearance in each season across that span.
