Kyle Korver Reportedly Leaves Hawks, Former NBA All-Star Spent 4 Seasons in Front Office

Former NBA All-Star Kyle Korver is reportedly leaving his role as the assistant general manager of the Atlanta Hawks.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported Monday that Korver is departing from the organization after four years in the front office. According to Stein, Korver remains "on good terms" with the franchise and "has expressed excitement about his next post-playing chapter."

Korver first made headlines as an All-American during his collegiate career at Creighton.

He entered the NBA as a second-round pick in the 2003 draft and played through the 2019-20 campaign for the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks.

The sharp-shooter connected on 42.9 percent of his three-pointers during his career and was best known for his proficiency beyond the arc.

His only All-Star selection was during the 2014-15 campaign when he was with the Hawks on a team that reached the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to LeBron James and the Cavaliers.

Atlanta first hired him following his playing career in 2022 as its new director of player affairs and development. It then made him the assistant GM in January 2023.

Yet the Hawks didn't enjoy much success with Korver in the front office.

They failed to make the playoffs in 2024 or 2025 before reaching the postseason in 2025-26. While they lost in the first round, it was at least a step in the right direction.

There is reason for optimism heading into the 2026-27 campaign with CJ McCollum, Jalen Johnson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker leading the way, but Korver will no longer be in the front office to see if the team builds on last season's playoff appearance.
