Jared Verse, George Pickens Named to NFL Top 100, Check Out the Updated 2026 Rankings

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens and Cleveland Browns pass-rusher Jared Verse were named the 36th- and 35th-best players in the league, respectively, Tuesday as part of the 2026 NFL Top 100.

Originally a second-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL draft, Pickens reached the 1,000-yard mark once and averaged 58 receptions for 947 yards and four touchdowns over his three seasons in the Steel City.

However, it wasn't until a trade to Dallas before the 2025 season that Pickens truly began to realize his potential.

In his first season with the Cowboys in 2025, Pickens set career highs across the board, catching 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. That resulted in the first Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro selections of his career.

Pickens had been scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2025 season, and he would have commanded a huge contract on the open market thanks to his performance.

However, the Cowboys placed the franchise tag on him, meaning the wide receiver duo of Pickens and CeeDee Lamb will be in place for at least one more year in Dallas.

While Pickens isn't necessarily considered to be on the same level as the NFL's elite wideouts such as Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua, another season like the one he produced in 2025 would likely put him squarely in that conversation.

Verse, who moved up 18 spots, is preparing to enter his third NFL season, but his first with the Browns following the blockbuster trade that sent superstar pass-rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

The 25-year-old Verse headlined the trade package that Cleveland received in return, and it was for good reason.

After the Rams selected Verse 19th overall in the 2024 NFL draft, he proceeded to earn Pro Bowl nods in each of his first two seasons, while also being named the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Verse's sack numbers are nowhere near as robust as Garrett's with 4.5 in 2024 and 7.5 last season, but his disruptive ability has been on full display.

Starting all 17 games for the Rams last season, Verse recorded 58 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles.

Verse will be the main player tasked with replacing Garrett's production, and while it will be an almost impossible task to do it on his own, the Browns still got a supremely talented and ascending pass-rusher in exchange for Garrett.
