Our 2027 NBA Mock Draft is Already Stacked with Pro-Ready Talent

Between overseas exhibition tournaments and FIBA youth competition, we've already had our first looks at some of the leading names in the 2027 NBA draft cycle.

The biggest offseason development so far has been the dominance of Slovenian star Stefan Joksimovic, most recently in the U18 European Championships. He's at least putting himself in the discussion with Kansas' Tyran Stokes, Arkansas' Jordan Smith Jr. and Arizona's Caleb Holt, the most popular names mentioned early atop a wide-open board.

Otherwise, current first-round projections include a number of familiar names we covered last year, as NIL brought back NBA-caliber talent that's going to strengthen the 2027 field.

We used Bleacher Report's Power Rankings to create the preseason mock draft order.

1. Sacramento Kings: Tyran Stokes (Kansas)

Position: SF | Size: 6'8", 230 lbs | Age: 18

For the last few years, Tyran Stokes has been the face—and marquee name—of the 2026 high school class and projected 2027 draft field.

His positional size, ability to initiate offense and three-level shotmaking create mismatches and scoring/playmaking versatility that's virtually unmatched among incoming freshmen.

Stokes figures to play different roles at Kansas, either as a ball-handling point-wing or physical forward. He operates with visible confidence and a vocal, assertive leadership style that some coaches love and others may view as abrasive.

Stokes will start atop the board, but he'll still have to earn it by next June by demonstrating enough consistency, shooting dependability and maturity.

2. New Orleans Pelicans (via Bucks): Jordan Smith Jr. (Arkansas)

Position: PG/SG | Size: 6'2", 205 lbs | Age: 18 

In a draft that lacks surefire NBA star power, Jordan Smith Jr. figures to be a popular prospect.

With offense expected to run through his transition speed, first step and pull-up game, and his defensive intensity and impact likely to remain consistent, Smith may be Arkansas' most productive, active and used player.

There will likely be debate over his size and whether he's a primary ball-handler/point guard at the next level. But all teams should feel safe about and drawn to Smith's ability to regularly apply pressure with his downhill driving, shotmaking and special defensive quickness, length and strength.

3. Houston Rockets (via Nets): Caleb Holt (Arizona)

Position: SG | Size: 6'5", 215 lbs | Age: 18

Scouts may have trouble putting a label on Caleb Holt, who at 6'5" can look like a mix between a 2-guard and a forward. He still figures to be a favorite for his ability to contribute with both perimeter skills and big-wing physical capabilities.

While Holt's self-creation and shooting have gradually improved, he's also going to make an impact by crashing the offensive glass, locking down defensively and guarding multiple positions.

Arizona and scouts will likely value his versatility more than Holt's ability/potential to initiate offense.

4. Chicago Bulls: Stefan Joksimovic (Baskonia)

Position: SG/F | Size: 6'7" | Age: 17 | Slovenia

Stefan Joksimovic's gold-medal performance and MVP at the U18 European Championships are the first major developments of the 2027 draft cycle.

Previously named MVP of Eurocamp in June, the 6'7" Slovenian has continued to stand out from the competition with his positional size for a guard/wing, shotmaking and athletic play-finishing.

He's developed real scoring versatility to play on and off the ball, showing live-dribble passing, self-created drives and pull-up shooting, or long strides and bounce when running the floor or cutting.

Joksimovic will stay in Europe, where he'll play more of a supporting role on a Baskonia team that is made up of former NCAA stars and NBA draft picks. However, scouts just traveled to Italy to watch the 17-year-old dominate in a lead role for Slovenia, averaging 23.1 points, 2.3 threes and 3.7 assists.

5. Memphis Grizzlies: Anthony Thompson (Ohio State)

Position: SF | Size: 6'9", 215 lbs | Age: 18

A 6'9" wing with an enormous wingspan and lefty shooting stroke, Anthony Thompson should instantly pop at Ohio State.

He's going to play a spot-up heavy role at Ohio State, knocking down threes, attacking closeouts and finishing at the rim.

Even if he struggles to show signs of advanced offensive creation, positional size, shooting and outstanding tools, particularly for defensive versatility, should make Thompson a popular draw with an easy-to-project NBA fit.

6. Atlanta Hawks (via Pelicans): Braylon Mullins (Connecticut)

Position: SG | Size: 6'6", 196 lbs | Age: 20

A regular name in 2026 first-round conversations, Braylon Mullins should be right back in the mix with a bigger role and easier path toward the 2027 lottery.

The historic shot he hit to beat Duke in the NCAA tournament highlighted his signature shooting range and shotmaking confidence. He was one of the most potent off-ball scoring freshmen, but he also possesses functional athletic ability for finishing and defending.

He should have a chance to be used in more ball-screen situations and expand his self-creation as a sophomore.

7. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Clippers): Patrick Ngongba II (Duke)

Position: C | Size: 6'11", 250 lbs | Age: 20

Patrick Ngongba II would have had first-round suitors had he chosen to stay in the 2026 draft. Instead, a few slight improvements could push him up the 2027 board into the lottery.

His combination of rim protection, passing and finishing creates an enticing archetype. With Cameron Boozer gone, Ngongba should see more opportunities in the post and a brighter green light to build on last year's 31 three-point attempts.

8. Memphis Grizzlies (via Jazz): Bruce Branch III (BYU)

Position: SF | Size: 6'7", 195 lbs | Age: 17

Bruce Branch III's physical tools, skill set and defensive ingredients all scream first-round prospect. How quickly he's able to build consistency will determine scouts' confidence in his outlook.

Branch is going to play his entire freshman season at 18 years old, which should create some wiggle room from scouts if his execution wavers.

The eye test ultimately loves how fluidly he's able to create and make shots from three levels with his mid-range game, post-ups and catch-and-shoot stroke.

9. Houston Rockets (via Suns): Motiejus Krivas (Arizona, C)

Position: C | Size: 7'2", 260 lbs | Age: 21 | Lithuania

Motiejus Krivas would have gone in the first round in 2026, but he's now in position to become college basketball's most impactful big and a 2027 lottery pick.

NBA teams continue to show a high level of interest in massive defensive centers like Donovan Clingan, Zach Edey and Aday Mara. Krivas is next in line at 7'2", 260 pounds, a frame he uses to help shrink the rim he's protecting.

Though he won't be for everyone, teams looking for an immediate paint presence figure to view him as a long-term anchor.

10. Golden State Warriors: Baba Oladotun (Maryland)

Position: SF | Size: 6'10", 195 lbs | Age: 17

Baba Oladotun has been on the radar for years with the always enticing combination of big-wing size (6'10") and perimeter skill.

His shotmaking is smooth, and he looks relatively effortless skying above the rim.

Scouts will have their eyes on his physical development and how successful he is creating higher-percentage shots for himself at Maryland.

11. Washington Wizards: Amari Allen (Alabama)

Position: SG/SF | Size: 6'7", 205 lbs | Age: 20

Amari Allen passed on a chance at the 2026 first round to return for a bigger role at Alabama.

He earned NBA interest with his positional size, three-point shooting and 3.6 assists per game, a combination that highlights versatility scouts love from a wing.

He'll look more convincing to them by next June if he's able to maintain his efficiency and increase production on more usage.

12. Charlotte Hornets (via Mavericks): Colben Landrew (Connecticut)

Position: SF | Size: 6'6", 236 lbs | Age: 18

Listed at 6'6", 236 pounds, Colben Landrew should earn minutes and NBA buzz with a pro's physical profile, advanced shotmaking and three-level scoring with his pull-up and drives.

Though Braylon Mullins, Nik Khamnia and Jayden Ross can create somewhat of a logjam, Landrew should be very interchangeable positionally—from the 2 to the 4—given his combination of physicality and perimeter skill.

13. Portland Trail Blazers: JJ Andrews (Arkansas)

Position: SF | Size: 6'6", 225 lbs | Age: 18

The first viewings of JJ Andrews in an Arkansas jersey were very encouraging during the team's exhibition trip to the Bahamas. Though his production in August should be taken lightly against weak opponents, he demonstrated the type of inside-out scoring versatility that seems sure to attract NBA attention for a 6'6", 225-pound forward.

Tough in the paint with strength and a left hand, he's also looking comfortable around the perimeter with his shot and drives.

How reliable he is from three will play a big role in Andrews' draft stock, but his tools and skill set should buy him patience from scouts.

14. Indiana Pacers: Dylan Mingo (Baylor)

Position: PG/SG | Size: 6'4", 185 lbs | Age: 18

Dylan Mingo should command lead-guard reps with how well he gets to spots, scores and facilitates using his positional size, slithery movement, two-point finishing and playmaking feel.

His draft stock will likely be tied to his shooting, though he can reduce the attention to it by showing enough as a capable shotmaker, primary passer and good decision-maker.

15. Orlando Magic: Jason Crowe Jr. (Missouri)

Position: PG/SG | Size: 6'4", 190 lbs | Age: 18

There's likely to be a lot of conversation around Jason Crowe Jr.'s potent shotmaking, scoring confidence, thin frame, limited explosion and projected archetype at the NBA level.

His expertise in self-creation, shooting with NBA range, hitting contested pull-ups and converting touch shots is evident. The scouting microscope will be on how often he gets to the rim, whether he can generate high-percentage finishes and if he shows enough playmaking for NBA teams to picture a lead guard.

16. San Antonio Spurs (via Hawks): Cameron Williams (Duke, C)

Position: C | Size: 7'0", 215 lbs | Age: 18

With Patrick Ngongba II and Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje in the mix, Cameron Williams' role and production may waver. He also won't look like the most polished prospect, but his size, movement, defensive coverage and shotmaking flashes should scream NBA upside.

17. Memphis Grizzlies (via Lakers): Quentin Coleman (Illinois)

Position: PG/SG | Size: 6'4", 180 lbs | Age: 18

Unlike many potential one-and-done prospects, Coleman emerged later, breaking out during his senior year.

At 6'4", he's a three-level shotmaker who's got some vertical pop around the basket for finishing and offensive rebounding.

There is still a lot to evaluate with his playmaking, which he'll need to show at 180 pounds. But Keaton Wagler and Kylan Boswell going pro means Coleman should have a good opportunity to continue growing in a high-usage backcourt role.

18. Charlotte Hornets: Luigi Suigo (Villanova)

Position: SF | Size: 7'3", 289 lbs | Age: 19 | Italy

NBA teams were giving Luigi Suigo first-round looks a few months ago, particularly after he measured nearly 7'3" barefoot with a 9'6" reach.

He should be the focal point this year at Villanova with his combination of overwhelming size around the rim and developing skill. Last year with Mega, he registered a wild 15.0 offensive rebounding percentage and even flashed some shooting range with 18 made threes.

How well he's able to defend ball screens and opponents in space figures to play a key role in Suigo's draft stock, although he should remain a regular in the first-round discussion regardless.

19. Brooklyn Nets (via Rockets): Abdou Toure (Arkansas)

Position: SF | Size: 6'5", 200 lbs | Age: 18 | Guinea/USA

Abdou Toure should generate the bulk of his production and highlights off his physical tools, athleticism and motor.

He's more of a wing or forward than a guard, which could cause some hesitation since he's only listed at 6'5". However, Toure's handle and shotmaking seem to improve each year, and enough production and skill flashes should lead to first-round interest, especially if he shows some promising signs with his three-point range.

20. Utah Jazz (via Cavaliers): Caleb Gaskins (Miami)

Position: SF/PF | Size: 6'8", 219 lbs | Age: 17

Caleb Gaskins should generate NBA interest with the ability to stretch the floor as a 4, operate as a 6'8", face-up wing and defend both forward positions.

Malik Reneau being granted a fifth year would make it tougher for Gaskins to build a strong one-and-done case. Regardless, the eye test should detect an NBA prospect right away.

And with Gaskins having played with the Boozer brothers earlier in high school, scouts should already be pretty familiar with the freshman's tools, refined three-level scoring skills and expanding scoring versatility.

21. Los Angeles Clippers (via Raptors): Thomas Haugh (Florida)

Position: SF/PF | Size: 6'9", 215 lbs | Age: 23

For Thomas Haugh, a big NIL offer and chance to win a second national championship apparently outweighed the potential to go in the top 20 in 2026.

Even if he looks like the same player, lottery teams figure to remain interested in a 6'9" combo forward who's productive from three, explosive above the rim and brings sound passing IQ. Teams will value his easy fit and archetype over the potential upside.

Age figures to become a talking point, considering he'll turn 24 years right after the 2027 draft. Still, we just saw the Golden State Warriors take Yaxel Lendeborg No. 11 after Michigan's title, and the certainty/translatability of Haugh's game could lead to similar viewpoints from NBA teams.

22. Charlotte Hornets (via Heat): Alijah Arenas (USC)

Position: SG | Size: 6'6", 199 lbs | Age: 19

Alijah Arenas' advanced ball-handling, shot-creation and shotmaking skill was very evident during his freshman year. Given his late start and injuries, scouts have sounded willing to give him a pass for the 21.3 percent three-point shooting, 40.5 percent two-point finishing and 32 turnovers to 23 assists. The bar is higher now.

Better decision-making and more second-year feel should lead to sharper execution on drives and jumpers. And based on his size, movement, repertoire and genes, it will become easy for scouts to picture an NBA-level scorer if he starts converting more consistently.

23. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Nuggets): Hugo Yimga-Moukouri (Nanterre 92)

Position: SF/PF | Size: 6'7" | Age: 18 | France

Coming off a productive U18 European Championships for France, Hugo Yimga-Moukouri has stood out for years with his combination of physicality and shotmaking flashes.

He could stand to add more creation and passing to offer more versatility, but Yimga-Moukouri just turned 18 years old, and his 6'8" size, positional strength and improving shooting/touch should continue to look enticing.

24. Detroit Pistons: Davis Fogel (Gonzaga)

Position: SF | Size: 6'7", 200 lbs | Age: 20

In 16.7 minutes a game, Davis Fogel flashed a well-rounded mix of on-ball creation, off-ball finishing, high-IQ passing, shotmaking potential and defensive playmaking.

His scoring versatility and athleticism could look far more convincing to NBA teams if he's able to replicate last year's scoring rates and efficiency in a larger role.

25. Philadelphia 76ers: Ivan Kharchenkov (Arizona)

Position: SF | Size: 6'7", 220 lbs | Age: 19 | Germany/Russia

Ivan Kharchenkov's versatility and defensive toughness are going to shine in a bigger role.

Even with the low three-point volume, he's a very likable prospect as a 6'7", 220-pound wing who can attack, handle and pass, finish plays, defend and make mid-range shots.

Kharchenkov has the chance to come off as a plug-and-play role player for NBA teams, especially if he's able to show improved shooting range.

26. Phoenix Suns (via Timberwolves): Tyler Tanner (Vanderbilt)

Position: PG | Size: 6'0", 173 lbs | Age: 20

Despite Tyler Tanner's breakout year, strong analytics and outlier small-guard dunks and blocks, NBA scouts still sounded hesitant last May and June. He'll have a better chance at the 2027 first round, especially if he's able to raise his shotmaking to another level.

Tanner figures to be one of the most impactful players in college basketball with how he's able to create offense and defensive events.

27. Boston Celtics: Tounde Yessoufou (St. John's)

Position: SF | Size: 6'5", 215 lbs | Age: 20 | Benin/USA

Tounde Yessoufou was in the first-round discussion all season last year for his impressive physical tools, scoring production and two-way energy. A lack of playmaking just put more pressure on him to become a reliable shooter.

He clearly has shotmaking skill, considering he made 53 threes and shot 47.3 percent on two-point jumpers.

Even moderate improvement to his three-point consistency should anchor Yessoufou in the 2027 first-round mix.

28. Toronto Raptors (via Thunder): Malachi Moreno (Kentucky)

Position: C | Size: 7'0", 243 lbs | Age: 19

A potential late first-rounder last June, Malachi Moreno returned to be Kentucky's defensive anchor and a more frequently used post player, playmaking hub and finisher.

His tools and instincts are selling points. Showing improved skill level and touch should push him into a tier with solidified first-round prospects.

29. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Spurs): Billy Richmond III (Arkansas)

Position: SF | Size: 6'6", 205 lbs | Age: 20

Billy Richmond's decision to return to Arkansas, improve his shooting and enter a more open draft was sensible.

He's already shown how impactful he can be by optimizing his athleticism and motor for transition scoring, driving, cutting, offensive rebounding and defending. These areas of his game seem translatable based on his tools, burst and effort. But he also shot 40.0 percent on mid-range jumpers and 78.4 percent on free throws.

There is a world where Richmond shows just enough signs of shotmaking growth for teams to detect first-round value and NBA role-player potential.

30. Brooklyn Nets (via Knicks): Juke Harris (Tennessee)

Position: SF | Size: 6'7", 200 lbs | Age: 21

There were NBA scouts with first-round grades on Juke Harris last year, but NIL and a perceived weaker 2027 draft field brought him back to college. He'll be the top option at Tennessee with his 6'7" size, three-level shotmaking and physicality/motor for attacking and play-finishing.
