Rich Paul Reacts to LeBron Decision Rumors amid Patrick Beverley's Viral Post

Even though Patrick Beverley spent part of one season playing with LeBron James, he doesn't appear to have any insight into what the future Hall of Famer's timeline to pick his next team is going to be.

On the latest episode of the Game Over podcast (h/t ESPN's Dave McMenamin), James' agent, Rich Paul, explained there is no set timeline for his superstar client to make a decision on where he will play next season.

"These people don't know anything," Paul said. "I don't know when his choice is going to be made, but it could be 48 seconds [from now]. It could be 48 minutes. I don't know. Again, you can't make somebody know something that they don't know."

Paul's response came after Beverley made headlines on Monday by posting on social media that "rumor has it Bron makes his decision today!!!"

The post from Beverley was surprising because there are no obvious direct connections between him and James. He is not a Klutch client, nor did he have an extended tenure playing with James.

Beverley's lone stint as James' teammate was the first four months of the 2022-23 season when he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He was traded to the Orlando Magic midway through the year, waived after agreeing to a buyout and finished the season with the Chicago Bulls.

There has been no indication from James or his camp when he will announce where he is going to play, though recent rumors indicate he is potentially narrowing his list of landing spots.

ESPN's Shams Charania said on Monday that Paul told him there's no timeline for an announcement.

Charania did note James' focus right now appears to be on the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers.

Heat president Pat Riley has said he believes his once-tense relationship with James has calmed down over the years as they try to bring back the four-time MVP.

James and the Cavs have 11 seasons of history together, including the franchise's lone championship to this point during the 2015-16 season.

The Sixers have a fascinating core of Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe. Adding James to that mix could make them a top-tier contender in the East.

Whatever James' process is right now as he weighs his options, it doesn't seem like many people have any idea which way the wind is blowing as the NBA world awaits his next destination.
