Cooper Flagg Says He Practiced Autograph During High School Classes After Signing Rare Debut Card
Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg signed his 1-of-1 NBA Debut Patch Autograph card on Saturday at Fanatics Fest in New York.
After doing so, Flagg said that he used to practice his autograph during high school classes.
Many wannabe pro athletes have spent time practicing their autograph, dreaming of signing for a legion of fans down the road.
Flagg, of course, will be putting that practice to use for years (and has done so for a few).
He's been on a superstar trajectory after being hailed as the top basketball prospect in his class in both high school and Duke, where he won consensus national player of the year honors for 2024-25.
Now the reigning Rookie of the Year just averaged 21.0 points on 46.8 percent shooting, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the Mavs, who selected him first overall in the 2025 NBA draft.
Flagg's ascendance will certainly be one of the NBA's top storylines to watch next year as the Mavericks also welcome Kyrie Irving back from a torn ACL that cost him all of 2025-26.
