LeBron James Thanks USC Medical Staff for Saving Bronny's Life After Cardiac Arrest in New Video
While being honored as the "Athlete of the Century" at the TIME100 Sports Gala on Thursday, star forward LeBron James took a moment to discuss one of the most harrowing experiences of his life.
James shouted out the USC medical staff for saving his son Bronny's life after he suffered a cardiac arrest before his freshman year in 2023, and he stressed the importance of having AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) on hand for young athletes.
"Obviously, if it wasn't for the coaching staff, the medical team and everybody at USC being there in a timely fashion, we possibly would be sitting here without our oldest son," James said during his speech. "So, thank you to everybody and all the efforts when it comes to cardiac arrest. Guys, take that serious."

Bronny James was medically cleared to play during his freshman year with the Trojans and was a second-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, teaming with his legendary father over the last two seasons.
With the elder James set to move on from the Lakers in free agency, Bronny will now continue his development in Los Angeles without being under his dad's wing.
