Trae Young 'Ready to Play Tomorrow' After Watching AJ Dybantsa in Wizards Summer League Debut
Washington Wizards point guard Trae Young was inspired by new teammate AJ Dybantsa's NBA Summer League debut on Thursday night.
"I'm ready to play tomorrow after seeing them play last night," Young said Friday, per ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "When you see what they did last night gives you more excitement."
Dybantsa showed why he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft during Washington's 92-88 win over the Utah Jazz in Las Vegas.

He recorded a game-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. While Dybantsa missed all five of his three-point attempts, he shot 7-of-13 from inside the arc.
Expectations are high for the 19-year-old, as he's coming off a 2025-26 season at BYU in which he averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game on 51.0/33.1/77.4 shooting splits.
Dybantsa and Young will serve as key building blocks for the Wizards moving forward, especially after the latter agreed to a new four-year contract worth $212 million with the organization on June 22.
Young only appeared in five games with Washington last season after he was acquired in a Jan. 7 trade with the Atlanta Hawks. He missed time due to back and quad injuries while the team wrapped up a 17-65 finish.
Now, Young is looking forward to sharing the floor with Dybantsa as they attempt to help the Wizards end a five-year playoff drought.
