New Lakers Rumors Update Jonathan Kuminga Sign-and-Trade Talks, Hawks' Asking Price
There reportedly is a gap in sign-and-trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks for free agent Jonathan Kuminga.
Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, Kuminga and his team have continued talks with the Lakers, but Atlanta is "seeking more than the Lakers can offer to this point."
Fischer added that a potential package from the Lakers would include a first-round pick in 2032 along with Jarred Vanderbilt, but the Hawks have "not considered" taking on Vanderbilt's contract in a sign-and-trade scenario.

Fischer also reported that Kuminga is hoping to land a deal in the ballpark of $25 million per year.
Khobi Price of the California Post reported earlier this week that the Lakers' previous offer to Kuminga was for just $10 million per year.
The Hawks reportedly have interest in bringing Kuminga back to Atlanta on a friendlier deal after declining his $24.3 million team option. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings have also been pointed to as potential landing spots.
Kuminga, who was traded to Atlanta at last year's deadline, put up 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 16 contests with the Hawks. He proved to be a valuable player off the bench, but whether the Lakers are willing to meet his contract demands remains to be seen.
