Novak Djokovic is headed to his ninth straight Wimbledon quarterfinal after beating Roman Safiullin in four sets, 7-6(6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 on Sunday.
The result marked a major achievement for the legend as he now has more men's singles wins at the All England Club than any other player.

Safiullin couldn't have asked for a better start as he earned a pair of service breaks in the first set and jumped ahead 5-2.
The 28-year-old not only had to advance through qualifiers in order to make the main draw but also opened his Wimbledon run with five-setters against Andrey Rublev and Botic van de Zandschulp.
With the mileage adding up, Safiullin couldn't afford to dig himself into an early hole if he had any hope of upsetting the seven-time champion.
The Russian had two chances to close out the set with Djokovic serving at 2-5. At the time, Djokovic's hold didn't appear to be the moment when the entire match turned, but that's effectively what it was.
Nearly losing the first set was a wakeup call to Djokovic, who immediately put Safiullin on the defensive.
This is not an uncommon phenomenon. Especially in the earlier rounds of major tournaments, Djokovic occasionally needs to experience a challenge to find his sharpness on the court.
He scraped by in the tiebreaker, failing to capitalize on two set-point chances before winning 8-6.
The second set was much less competitive as Djokovic lost five total points on serve. He earned a break in the sixth game and cruised to claim a 2-0 set lead.
Having built such a big cushion, the 24-time Grand Slam winner took is foot off the gas in the third set. That spared Safiullin from a straight-set exit but merely prolonged the inevitable.
Djokovic once again flipped a switch and was the far superior player in the fourth frame to wrap things up.
With the victory, he will play either third-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime or No. 22 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinals.
Djokovic has split his two previous meetings with Auger-Aliassime, which both came in 2022, and is 5-1 all time against Davidovich Fokina. Regardless of the opponent, he'll likely be the favorite to punch a ticket to the semis.
