Brazil vs. Norway
1 of 2
Odds
Brazil (-270; bet $100, win $37.04)
Norway (+210; bet $100, win $210)
Two of the best players in the world will take to the pitch Sunday afternoon when Vinicius Junior leads Brazil against Norway's Erling Haaland.
Haaland cashed his country's ticket to the Round of 16 with a game-winning goal that advanced them past Ivory Coast. Vinicius helped his team narrowly defeat Japan.
Both will need to be in top form to push their team into the next round.
If Brazil struggles to control passes the way they did against Japan in the Round of 32, Haaland will have a field day, and Norway will score the upset win. If the underdog struggles early or comes out of the gate flat, it could be a long day for one of the most entertaining teams in the tournament.
Neither team is perfect, but both provide high drama, making this one of the most intriguing match-ups in this year's World Cup.
Brazil has the experience and is a regular participant in this round. Norway, though, is playing pressure-free and with house money, thanks to Haaland and fellow star Martin Ødegaard.
The Brazilian team is better in every measurable category, including attacking. Still, there is something to be said about playing without the burden of lofty expectations and the history of bygone teams weighing on you.
Vinicius and Co. may be superior on paper, but Norway wins here in a fairly sizeable upset to continue their unlikely run.
Prediction: Norway scores the upset, 2-1
Mexico vs. England
2 of 2
Odds
Mexico (+116)
England (-142)
Defense wins championships, and to this point in the 2026 World Cup, Mexico has not conceded a single goal. They have been stellar on the back end and, even with the star power of Harry Kane leading the way, England will find it difficult to penetrate that unit and be the first team to find the net.
Especially considering the altitude and the so-so play of the Three Lions.
England struggled against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana, tying both and never looking like the aggressive, attacking team they hoped to be in this year's tournament.
Against a Mexico squad that has consistently built momentum and is playing some of the best ball of any remaining team, with a goalie in Raul 'Tala' Rangel who is as athletic at his position as anyone remaining in the field, and you have a match-up that is not favorable for the English.
Kane is an elite scorer and could prove to be the kryptonite to Mexico's defensive excellence, if there is one, but the inconsistency of England to this point makes it difficult to predict them to beat one of the better units this tournament has seen.
Prediction: Mexico, 1-0
