The 2026 World Cup Round of 32 wraps up Friday, with the final three matches on the docket.

Australia and Egypt kick off the action at 2:00 p.m. EST, followed by Argentina vs. Cabo Verde at 6:00 p.m., before Colombia and Ghana play for the right to be the final team to advance to the Round of 16.

Australia vs. Egypt

Neither Australia nor Egypt has a wealth of experience in the knockout round, with the former appearing in it twice and the latter not since 1934.

It is against that backdrop that one of the closer match-ups in this round will take place.

Egypt has a great counterattack, with superstar Mohamed Salah leading the way. The 34-year-old has elite speed and when left in one-on-one situations, will find the net more times than not.

He may struggle to find opportunities against an excellent Australian defense. Egypt, too, possesses a stingy back end, setting up a low-scoring affair in which one goal could be the difference between an unprecedented advancement into the Round of 16 and a trip home.

Prediction: Egypt outlasts Australia, 1-0

Argentina vs. Cabo Verde

Argentina enters Friday's match-up the defending World Cup champions, with a chance to send a message loudly and clearly to the rest of the field as they take on a Cabo Verde team that, on paper, appears to be outmatched.

Lionel Messi has been among the best players, if not the best, in this year's field, with seven goals to his name already. He has lived up to the star billing and stopping him has proven impossible through the group stage.

Add to that an elite midfield and you have a team that has the ability to become the first squad since Brazil in 1962 to repeat as World Cup champions.

Cabo Verde is a team in every sense, and have the ability to pull off one of the most unforgettable World Cup upsets in modern soccer history, but the Argentinian unit is as polished and good as any other team in this year's tournament. Sometimes, the megastars are the difference.

Prediction: Argentina pulls away, wins 3-1

Colombia vs. Ghana

Ghana pulled off a miraculous defensive performance against England, tying them at 0. It was one of the more unexpected outcomes of this year's tournament to this point. While it very well may happen again, depending on head coach's Carlos Queiroz's gameplan.

With that said, though, Queiroz's team has taken just four on-target shots on goal in this tournament, something which cannot continue if they have any shot of defeating the South Americans.

Colombia is the superior team, has played like such, and should have no problem overwhelming the Ghana squad, especially with its more efficient passing and scoring.

The underdogs will keep pace because of their speed, but Colombia will inevitably keep the ball in their opponent's side of the pitch and score enough to put this one away, perhaps before it gets started.

Prediction: Colombia, 2-0
