World Cup 2026 Odds, Updated Predictions for Wednesday's Round of 32 Matches
The 2026 World Cup has reached its knockout stage, and we've already seen a few surprises. Germany, for example, was considered a top contender but fell to Paraguay on penalty kicks early in the round of 32.
Wednesday will bring the knockout action for England, the United States, and Belgium. While these aren't heavy favorites, they are widely expected to advance to the next round.
Here's a look at what's ahead for Wednesday, including scheduling information, the latest odds, and some early predictions.
England vs. DR Congo
1 of 3
Time: 12 p.m. ET
TV and Live Stream: Fox, Telemundo, Fox One
Money Line: England -900 (bet $900 to win $100), DR Congo +560 (bet $100 to win $560)
While England is used to being a staple of the World Cup, the Democratic Republic of Congo is not. This year marked the first time DR Congo qualified since 1974, and it didn't feature a fast track to qualification.
Along with Iraq, DR Congo qualified via the intercontinental playoffs.
While DR Congo is an underdog, the squad, which is managed by Sébastien Desabre, can't be discounted entirely at this stage. Les Léopards recorded a 1-1 draw with Portugal and a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan to earn a third-place finish in Group K.
Led by Premier League standouts like Yoane Wissa and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, DR Congo has shown a knack for battling back at this year's World Cup. However, Les Léopards will have their hands full against England.
The Three Lions have some injury issues, as rght-backs Reece James (hamstring) and Jarell Quansah (ankle) are banged up and unlikely to play. Tino Livramento (calf), meanwhile, has been ruled out of the tournament. However, England has a tremendous overall squad and enough scoring power to keep the pressure on DR Congo.
Expect Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham to lead an attack that keeps DR Congo playing catch-up for 90 minutes.
Prediction: England 3, DR Congo 1
Belgium vs. Senegal
2 of 3
Time: 4 p.m. ET
TV and Live Stream: FS1, Telemundo, Fox One
Money Line: Belgium -168, Senegal +136
Neither Belgium nor Senegal looked like a knockout threat early in the group stage. Senegal lost convincingly to both France and Norway before shellacking Iraq 5-0 to earn a third-place qualifying spot. Belgium drew with both Egypt and Iran before earning a 5-1 win over New Zealand and taking first place in Group G.
While Belgium is likely to be a tougher out than Iraq, the Lions of Teranga can pull off the upset if they can keep up the scoring they showcased in their group-stage finale.
Led by the nation's all-time leading scorer Sadio Mané and Premier League star Nicolas Jackson, Senegal has a team that can put up points in a hurry.
However, Belgium has legitimate star power of its own, along with an overall deeper roster. Led by the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Leandro Trossard, the Red Devils should have little trouble keeping pace with Senegal.
Expect Rudi Garcia to notch a narrow victory to advance.
Prediction: Belgium 3, Senegal 3 (Belgium wins 4-3 on PKs)
USA vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina
3 of 3
Time: 8 p.m. ET
TV and Live Stream: Fox, Telemundo, Universo, Fox One
Money Line: USA -750, B&H +500
Though the United States finished third in the 1930 inaugural World Cup, the Americans don't have a storied history filled with deep tournament runs. Since that third-place finish, Team USA has never advanced past the quarterfinals.
However, the Americans, who are co-hosting the 2026 Cup alongside Mexico and Canada, might have their strongest squad ever. A run to the quarterfinals or even the semifinals is possible, though it won't be easy.
Standing between Team USA and the round of 16 is Bosnia and Herzegovina, a squad that showed real promise in Group B. A draw with Canada and a 3-1 win over Qatar put Zmajevi in the knockout stage.
Led by seasoned vets like Edin Džeko and Sead Kolašinac, Bosnia and Herzegovina has the pieces to employ a winning strategy in this matchup. Expect Zmajevi to try frustrating the Americans early with stiff defense and precise counterattacks while seeking a low-scoring affair.
Team USA manager Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for the opposite outcome. He'll look to deploy early pressure with a relentless attack and keep his team in an offensive rhythm.
The Americans won 4-1 over Paraguay and 2-0 over Australia before losing a meaningless final group-stage game against Türkiye.
While it would have been nice to see Team USA finish the group stage strong, Pochettino made some lineup decisions he wouldn't have made in a critical matchup. The good news is that the Americans saw the return of superstar Christian Pulisic, who had been dealing with a calf injury.
With Pulisic, Chris Richards, Folarin Balogun, and Sergino Dest all in the lineup, Team USA should once again generate early pressure and play with a lead.
Prediction: United States 3, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2
