France Beats Norway, Final Match Stats, Highlights & World Cup Group I Standings
Ousmane Dembele's 32-minute first-half hattrick sent France through to the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout stages as Group I winners with a 4-1 victory over Norway. Desire Doue added a late ribbon on a perfect Friday for the two-time World Cup winners.
Les Bleus, who are tipped to win the tournament by many, made it three wins from three against a heavily-rotated Norway side that left star men Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard on the bench and changed eight other players from their previous starting lineup, having already qualified for the Round of 32.

Mbappe hit the bar inside 30 seconds, smashing his effort off the woodwork with a cheeky attempt from a wide angle. It was a sign of things to come in a rampant opening 45 minutes.
Manu Kone then had a shot saved, minutes before Mbappe assisted Dembele, who broke the weak Norwegian resistance with six minutes on the clock. The Ballon d'Or winner brilliantly cut inside onto his supposedly weaker right foot before sweeping beyond Egil Selvik.
Under 15 minutes later, Mbappe set up Dembele for another wonderful finish to make it 2-0.
Norway's second-string squad did manage to show some fight with an instant response. Thelo Aasgaard's beautiful shimmy and strike from the edge of the box breathed instant life back into the game.
Any hope was short-lived, though, with Dembele once again reminding the world why he shouldn't be given time around the edge of the box. His third goal secured the third hat-trick of the World Cup after Argentina's Lionel Messi and Canada's Jonathan David.
Norway made changes directly after half-time, but still kept Haaland and Odegaard on the bench in a game that would only yield group victory if they took all three points.
Stale Solbakken's side had another route back into the game right after the break when Oscar Bobb was fouled by Theo Hernandez in the box.
However, Jorgen Strand Larsen's turgid penalty was easy for Mike Maignan to save, once again highlighting the drop off in firepower without regular penalty-taker Haaland.
Much of the second half was played at a pedestrian pace, a sign that the hard work in the group had already been done for both teams.
However, there was still time for Doue to get on the scoresheet in the final moments. His header wrapped up a comfortable day for a team that will have many on notice.
As it stands, France are due to face Sweden in the next round, while Norway are confirmed to take on Ivory Coast.
The strength-in-depth throughout France's squad looks unmatched at this tournament, with players all over the pitch who can slot in and perform when called upon by Didier Deschamps.
