Match Results: Thanks to a 1-0 win over Uruguay, Spain locked up the top spot in Group H. It wasn't the best performance from Luis de la Fuente's team, but they exerted enough control and took advantage of a massive error from Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to get the victory. For Uruguay? They end the group in third on just two points, eliminating them from the World Cup in embarrassing fashion.
Cabo Verde and Saudi Arabia played to a 0-0 draw where chances were scare. That was just fine for the Blue Sharks, who knew that a draw — coupled with an Uruguay loss — would guarantee them second in the group. Saudi Arabia, for their part, needed a win to advance but failed to produce enough threat to earn it.
Round of 32 Outlook: As the winner of Group H, Spain will play the runner-up from Group J. The date and time are confirmed, though the opponent is not:

Match Results: France sealed first place in Group I with a comfortable 4-1 victory over an understrength Norway. Both teams' place in the knockouts was confirmed prior to kickoff, and the Scandinavians took the opportunity to rest key players. Les Bleus, however, came out strong, and Ousmane Dembélé romped to a sensational hat-trick in the first 32 minutes, with each goal better than the last. Thelo Aasgaard managed to squeeze a shot past Mike Maignan immediately after Dembélé's second, but Norway couldn't reduce the deficit further, with Jørgen Strand Larsen missing from the spot shortly after the second half got underway. With seconds to spare, Désiré Doué added a fourth with a header from near the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, Iraq's afternoon against Senegal started badly when Habib Diarra scored a header after just four minutes. It got a lot worse shortly after when Rebin Sulaka received a red card for pulling Sadio Mané's shorts when he was through on goal. The defender was the last man, and after a VAR review, he was given his marching orders. Ismaila Sarr added to Iraq's misery in the 56th minute, poking home from after some fine work from Lamine Camara. Substitute Pape Gueye put the game out of sight with a marvelous long-range strike a few minutes later, followed by a thunderbolt to make it four. Iliman Ndiaye added gloss to the scoreline with a fierce strike with less than 10 minutes to spare. The 5-0 victory for the Lions of Teranga means they are still in with a good chance of reaching the knockouts as one of the eight best third-place finishers. Iraq, though, will head home.
Round of 32 Outlook: France's opponent for the next round is not yet confirmed, but Sweden looks likely to meet them on June 30. Les Bleus should feel confident of beating a side that finished third in Group F and was soundly beaten 5-1 by the Netherlands.
🇫🇷 France vs. TBD (Saturday, June 30 at 5 p.m. ET, New Jersey - FOX, FOX One)
Norway will go up against Côte d'Ivoire in the round of 32. With Erling Haaland well rested, the Europeans will fancy their chances against a team that flattered to deceive in Group E.
