James Dolan Reveals If Knicks Will Enter 2nd Apron After NBA Title Win Amid KAT Contract Buzz
New York Knicks owner James Dolan managed to put together a championship-winning team without going into the second apron, and he has every intention of staying below that threshold in the future.
Dolan said on WFAN on Wednesday that he has no plans of going into the second apron this offseason.
"There's certain things in the NBA that you'd have to be suicidal to do, and we're not going to do those," Dolan said. "One of them is called the second apron. Cannot go into the second apron... I'll write as big of a check as possible, but I can't write a check that goes into the second apron."

Dolan Saw Future in April 🔮
Dolan's comments come ahead of an offseason in which Karl-Anthony Towns is eligible for a massive four-year contract worth a combined $272 million.
The Athletic's Sam Amick noted during the Finals that "there will still be a discussion to be had" about Towns' future with the Knicks, whether or not they had won a championship.
While Towns' performance didn't show up in the stat sheet during the Finals, those within the organization know how instrumental he was to the team's championship run.
Still, Towns is 30 years old and perhaps past his prime, so New York will have a tough decision to make regarding his future.
