USA vs. Hungary Box Score & Reaction for Clark, Reese from 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup KO Bracket

Team USA continued its dominant run in the 2026 FIBA World Cup on Thursday with a 108-56 quarterfinal victory over Hungary.

Napheesa Collier and Caitlin Clark were among five U.S. players who scored in double figures. Clark also finished with a game-high six assists off the bench.

Angel Reese just missed reaching double-figures in scoring, but she still finished with nine points on 4-of-5 shooting, five rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes.

Rhyne Howard, who had a total of five points in her first two games, has scored 29 points in the last two games. She dropped 15 off the bench against Hungary to help spark the offense.

After getting a scare in the second game of group play against Italy when they put up just 55 points, the Americans have left no doubt in the subsequent two games they are the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament.

The U.S. has defeated the Czech Republic and how Hungary by a combined 93 points. They shot 60 percent overall and 55 percent from three (12-of-22) on Thursday, resulting in a quarterfinal scoring record at the World Cup.

Collier had her best output of the World Cup thus far with 19 points. It also matches Breanna Stewart against Czechia for the highest-scoring game by an American player in the tournament.

Clark and Reese had the chemistry working in this game with each giving the other an assist on a transition bucket off a steal.

Now that head coach Kara Lawson seems to have things back on track after the brief hiccup against Italy, the path is clear for Team USA to claim its fifth consecutive gold medal at the World Cup.

Next up for the U.S. will be the winner of the Australia-Spain matchup. The semifinals will take place on Saturday.
