Mikal Bridges Owns Up to 'Terrible' Game 3 After Knicks' Loss to Spurs, 'I've Got to Be Better'
New York Knicks star Mikal Bridges called his performance "terrible" in the team's 115-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
"I know personally I've got to be better," he told reporters Tuesday. "... You can't sulk about last game. You gotta learn from it."
Knicks head coach Mike Brown had some choice words about the officiating on Monday night, pointing out how the Spurs attempted 16 more free throws in the second half.

For the most part, Bridges and his teammates have struck a different tone. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby all generally said New York wasn't good enough on the occasion:
Bridges in particular had a game to forget. He finished with just two points on 1-of-5 shooting, though he did chip in with five rebounds, two assists and one block. The veteran wing actually managed to have the highest plus-minus (plus-11) of any Knicks player.
There's no reason for the Knicks to panic. They're still up in 2-1 in the series and maintain home-court advantage. Should they go on to take Game 4 on Wednesday, they'll put the Spurs squarely on the brink.
The way in which the Knicks' key players acknowledged their shortcomings has to be encouraging to Brown and his staff.
New York's hot stretch couldn't continue forever against an opponent as good as San Antonio. Now, the key is rebounding and looking sharper on the floor when the Finals resume.
