Wemby, Spurs Beat Brunson, Knicks at MSG, Box Score Stats & Highlights from NBA Finals Game 3
There will not be a sweep in the 2026 NBA Finals.
Despite losing the first two at home, the San Antonio Spurs went into a raucous Madison Square Garden and defeated the New York Knicks 115-111 in Monday's Game 3. New York still leads the series 2-1, but its 13-game playoff winning streak that dated back to the first round came to an end thanks to Victor Wembanyama and Co.
Wembanyama was brilliant on the way to 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals, but it was Stephon Castle and De'Aaron Fox who hit the biggest shots of the game for the visitors.

NBA Finals Game 3 Box Score Predictions 🔢
| Player | Points | Rebounds | Assists |
| Victor Wembanyama | 32 | 8 | 6 |
| Stephon Castle | 23 | 5 | 5 |
| De'Aaron Fox | 12 | 3 | 8 |
| Dylan Harper | 13 | 9 | 4 |
Castle's three-pointer in the last two minutes stopped a Knicks' run, while Fox's runner in the lane in the final seconds extended the lead to five. Fittingly, it was Castle who all but iced the win with two free throws after an OG Anunoby three.
As for the Knicks, 32 points, five assists and five rebounds from Jalen Brunson wasn't enough to extend their postseason winning streak. Anunoby also played well with 28 points, but the Spurs now have some momentum.
| Player | Points | Rebounds | Assists |
| Jalen Brunson | 32 | 5 | 5 |
| OG Anunoby | 28 | 5 | 1 |
| Karl-Anthony Towns | 11 | 8 | 1 |
| Josh Hart | 16 | 9 | 5 |
While the Knicks entered Game 3 in full control of the series, it's not as if there was much separation between the two teams with a shocking turnover and missed buzzer-beater from Wembanyama deciding Game 2 in San Antonio.
That suggested the Spurs wouldn't go down without a fight, and they came out with the expected urgency and built a double-digit lead in the first quarter with Wembanyama playing near the rim and unleashing multiple dunks as Castle attacked the basket and played through contact.
There was also no shortage of physicality with Wembanyama shoving Brunson and Josh Hart picking up a technical foul:
But the second quarter was a different story.
It started with role players Jose Alvarado and Jordan Clarkson giving the Knicks momentum before Anunoby took over as he connected on outside shots and even blew past Wembanyama for a dunk. Throw in Brunson remaining in constant attack mode and Josh Hart draining the open looks the Spurs allowed, and the Knicks poured in 42 points in a breathtaking second quarter to take a seven-point lead into intermission.
To San Antonio's credit, it battled right back to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth with Wembanyama showing off feathery touch, Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie hitting from the outside, and Dylan Harper remaining aggressive.
Brunson also found himself in foul trouble, although the secondary scoring from the likes of Hart and Clarkson helped the Knicks weather the Spurs' runs leading into the final quarter.
A well-timed challenge that took away a four-point play from Wembanyama that would have put the Spurs up double digits helped them weather one of those runs, especially since Brunson scored immediately on the other end.
Considering the Knicks owned crunch time in the first two games with Brunson taking over in the most important moments, it seemed to be setting the stage for another dramatic win.
But the Spurs flipped the script with swarming defense with the game on the line. New York went ice cold from deep in the fourth with that defense bothering the shooters, and Wembanyama was there to challenge everything at the rim.
The visitors still needed some timely offense to put the finishing touches on the victory, and they received just that with the monster shots from Castle and Fox.
