The New York Knicks overcame an inefficient shooting night from star point guard Jalen Brunson to wrap up a thrilling 105-104 win over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals.
New York now holds a 2-0 series lead.
Brunson scored 20 points, but only shot 7-of-25 from the field and 2-of-8 from three-point territory. Still, he dished out six assists and picked up five steals while connecting on a game-tying jumper late in the fourth quarter.

Brunson also hit a free throw to give the Knicks a one-point lead before Wembanyama missed a game-winning shot to seal the final result.

Karl-Anthony Towns stepped up for New York in the win, scoring a team-high 21 points to go along with 13 rebounds and four assists. Towns shot 8-of-12 from the field while connecting on three of his five attempts from behind the arc.
Wembanyama scored 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting. He also racked up nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
Still, Wembanyama committed a costly turnover with the score tied and 10 seconds left in the game.

San Antonio got off to a strong start on Friday, taking a 10-point lead with just under two minutes left in the first quarter and maintaining a 34-25 edge at the end of the period.
The Spurs still led by eight points as eight minutes remained in the second quarter, but New York outscored them 22-10 for the rest of the first half to hold a 56-52 advantage at halftime.
The Knicks opened the second half on a quick 8-2 run to take their first double-digit lead of the game.
San Antonio pulled to within four points on multiple occasions, although New York still led 84-75 heading into the final quarter.
The Knicks extended their lead to 97-83 midway through the fourth quarter before the Spurs went on a 14-0 run to tie the game with three minutes remaining.
Both teams continued to battle down the stretch of the game, but the Spurs ultimately couldn't pull off a buzzer-beating victory.
Game 3 between New York and San Antonio is on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
