The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the host San Antonio Spurs 123-108 on Friday evening to take Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City now leads San Antonio two games to one in the best-of-seven series.

Thunder guard and reigning two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 26 points on 6-of-17 shooting and dished 12 assists. He made all 12 of his free throws.

Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports complimented his performance postgame.

Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama scored 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting alongside four rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

OKC's bench ultimately proved to be the difference. Jared McCain scored 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting, and OKC outscored San Antonio by 28 points with him on the floor.

He made a tough layup in the third for a 75-66 lead.

McCain's former Philadelphia 76ers teammate, Tyrese Maxey, shouted him out during the game.

Jaylin Williams posted 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting in just 22 minutes (plus-25). His clutch four-point play gave OKC an 111-96 edge midway through the fourth.

Alex Caruso added 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting (plus-28). Both players blocked two shots. Cason Wallace stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. His clutch three late gave OKC a 13-point lead.

Overall, OKC's bench outscored San Antonio's reserves, 76-23.

The biggest difference was in the second quarter, when OKC outscored San Antonio 32-20 to take a 58-51 halftime lead. It was an impressive comeback for the Thunder, which trailed 10-0 and then 17-2 to start the game.

Both teams fared well offensively in the third quarter, but the Thunder outscored the Spurs 37-33 to hold a 95-84 advantage going into the fourth. OKC led by nine or more points for the entire fourth quarter.

The Thunder shot 48 percent from three and 85 percent from the free throw line en route to an impressive offensive performance.

Game 4 will take place on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET in San Antonio.
