NBA L2M Report on Pistons-Cavs Determines Whether Controversial No-Call on Jarrett Allen Was Correct
The NBA determined that no foul being called for the contact between Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen and Detroit Pistons forward Ausar Thompson at the end of regulation during Game 5 of their second-round playoff series was correct.
The league released its Last Two Minute Report for the game in which the no-call was confirmed.
"Allen and Thompson legally step to the same spot while pursuing the loose ball [before either player has possession], and both lose their balance from the marginal contact," the report read (h/t ESPN).

The game ultimately went to overtime with the score tied 103-103 before Cleveland emerged with a 117-113 win.
Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff wasn't pleased with the lack of a foul call.
"He fouled Ausar," Bickerstaff told reporters after the game. "It's clear. He trips him when he's going for a loose ball. End of game situation. That's tough."
Official Tony Brothers also provided an explanation for the no-call in a pool report following the contest.
"During live play, both players were going for the ball and there was incidental contact with the legs with no player having possession of the ball," Brothers said.
It was a crucial win for the Cavs, as they took a 3-2 series lead with Game 6 back in Cleveland.
As for the Pistons, they led by as many as 15 points during the first half of Wednesday's matchup and held a 103-94 advantage with three minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Cleveland eventually ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to tie the game and could've emerged victorious on its final possession in regulation, although Thompson stripped Cavs star Donovan Mitchell before making contact with Allen just before time expired.
Detroit wasn't able to secure a win in overtime, shooting just 4-of-11 from the field and 0-of-3 from three-point territory as a team.
The Pistons will now look to avoid elimination in Game 6, which begins on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
