Shakira collaborated with Burna Boy to produce "Dai Dai" for the official album of the 2026 World Cup. She also performed the official song of the 2010 World Cup, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," and featured in the opening ceremony that year.
While commonplace at major American sporting events, halftime shows aren't the norm at world football spectacles such as the World Cup. FIFA experimented with the concept at the 2025 Club World Cup, where J Balvin, Doja Cat, Tems and Coldplay all performed.
Beyond the novelty, the World Cup final show could present some logistical hurdles.
Halftimes last 15 minutes in world football, but that may need to be extended in order to clear the pitch and get it ready for the second half. Halftime at the Super Bowl can extend to 20-30 minutes to set up and tear down the stage before the third quarter gets underway.

The 2026 World Cup will kick off June 11, with Mexico taking on South Africa in the opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. MetLife Stadium will host the final on July 19.
