New NBA Rumors on 76ers' Search to Replace Daryl Morey After Firing, Andre Iguodala Links
In the wake of Daryl Morey's departure from the Philadelphia 76ers, Bob Myers will lead the club's search for a new lead executive.
Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, Myers will temporarily be running Philadelphia's front office until a new president of basketball operations is in place and he intends to interview internal and external candidates.
Fischer noted that Myers, who was named president of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment entity that owns the Sixers in October, "does not plan to consider" Andre Iguodala for the job.

Iguodala, currently the acting executive director of the National Basketball Players Association, played eight seasons with the 76ers. He also spent eight seasons over two stints with the Golden State Warriors when Myers was the team's general manager.
Another key point Fischer added was that it has been "stressed" to him that Myers will move back into his advisory role after a new president of basketball operations is hired, indicating there isn't a plan for Myers to hire himself.
The 76ers announced on Tuesday that Morey was leaving his post as president of basketball operations after six seasons. His move came after Philadelphia was swept in the Eastern Conference semifinals by the New York Knicks, including a 144-114 loss in the closeout Game 4 on Sunday.
Per ESPN's Shams Charania, Nick Nurse is expected to remain as Sixers head coach.
Despite the abrupt and disappointing end to their season, the 76ers job should hold a lot of appeal to people within the NBA. Tyrese Maxey is only 25 and has made two All-Star teams. VJ Edgecombe showed tremendous ability as a rookie.
There is always risk when it comes to Joel Embiid's health, but he still averaged 26.9 points per game in 38 starts when he did play this season.
Philadelphia has a good nucleus of talent already in place, with some financial flexibility thanks to being a projected $26.2 million under the first apron this summer, most of its own draft capital over the next seven years and an unprotected 2028 first-rounder from the Los Angeles Clippers to help build the roster.
