He confirmed that he was dealing with knee issues after leaving the Giants' 10-5 loss to the San Diego Padres after just four innings on Tuesday.
"I've dealt with it for a little while, but it's still no excuse," Webb said following the game, via MLB.com's Henry Schulman.
The 29-year-old has earned All-Star nods in each of the prior two seasons and finished No. 2 in 2023 National League Cy Young Award voting, but struggled to open his 2026 campaign.
Webb has compiled a 2-4 record in eight starts this season to go along with a 5.06 ERA and 1.396 WHIP. Opposing batters have also hit .275 against him in 2026.
The Giants will look to get on track without Webb, as they currently sit at the bottom of the NL West standings with a 15-23 record.
