Katy Perry, BLACKPINK's Lisa Reportedly Among Artists Tabbed for World Cup Opening Ceremonies
One month away from the start of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA is planning to go all-out for opening ceremonies before the first game at each of the three host nations.
Per The Athletic's Adam Crafton, Katy Perry and Lisa from BLACKPINK are among the musical artists who have been tabbed to perform as part of the opening ceremonies.
The United States, Canada and Mexico will all be hosting games during the World Cup.
Perry is set to be the headliner for the ceremony prior to the United States' opener against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium on June 12. Rap star Future and LA-based DJ Sanjoy are also among the musicians set to perform in the U.S. part of the ceremonies.
Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette and Alessia Cara are among the Canadian artists expected to perform prior to Canada's first match on June 12 in Toronto against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Mexico will feature performances from Mana, Alejandro Fernández and Belinda.
The 2026 World Cup begins on June 11 with two games in Mexico. A total of 16 cities across the three countries will host games, culminating with the final at MetLife Stadium on July 19.
