He previously missed time near the beginning of the 2025-26 season due to a left shoulder subluxation.
While Miller was eventually able to return and suit up in 65 games during the regular season, he wore a wrap on his shoulder for the remainder of the year.
"I feel good," Miller said in Dec. 2025, via SI.com's Zach Roberts. "Shoulder wrap is not gonna come off; probably see it the whole season. Just excited to be back."
"It makes sure the arm doesn't get too far extended, so just having the extra protection is good for me in the long run," he added.
Even with the shoulder woes, Miller put together an impressive 2025-26 campaign.
He averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from behind the arc. Miller also owned the fourth-best net rating among all Hornets players to appear in at least 40 contests (via NBA.com).
The 23-year-old played a key role on a Charlotte squad that exceeded expectations despite narrowly missing the playoffs, finishing with a 44-38 record.
While Miller's exact recovery timeline following his latest surgery is unknown, his future is still bright.
