Why Magic Were Fined for NBA Injury Report Rules Violation for Pistons Game
The Orlando Magic were fined $25,000 for incorrectly reporting Anthony Black's injury status ahead of a Monday matchup against the Detroit Pistons, the NBA announced Thursday.
Black, who was originally listed as out on Monday's injury report, later slotted back into the Magic's lineup for the first time since March 7.

The Magic first reported Black would be out with the left lateral abdominal strain that had sidelined him for the team's last 17 games in the 1:45 p.m. ET injury report released ahead of Monday's 7 p.m. ET matchup.
His status then changed to "questionable" until he reached "probable" as of 3:15 p.m. ET that day. The Magic confirmed two hours later that Black would be available to play.
Black ultimately came off the bench to contribute 14 points in 15 minutes of the Magic's 123-107 win.
His return could now provide a boost for the Magic during a crucial final two regular-season games against the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics.
The Magic, currently the No. 7 seed in the East, has won four straight contests and still has a chance to climb out of the play-in tournament by closing the half-game gap between them and the Toronto Raptors.
