Fresh NBA Rumors Predict At Least 8 HCs Will Be Fired Amid Doc Rivers, Bucks Buzz
Almost half of the NBA could be making head coaching changes after the 2025-26 season, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
Fischer wrote Wednesday on The Stein Line Substack that one league source said there could be "eight to 12" head coaching changes in the NBA this offseason.
His report comes after NBA insider Marc Stein wrote earlier this week for The Stein Line that the Bucks could be parting ways with head coach Doc Rivers after three seasons.

Former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins "has already emerged as a likely prime candidate" for the Bucks, according to Stein.
The Washington Wizards could also target Jenkins should the team part ways with Brian Keefe, per Fischer. Keefe is in his second full season with the Wizards, both of which the team has spent tanking.
Fischer added the Orlando Magic is another team "many around the league have circled for a possible coaching change."
Should the Magic part ways with coach Jamahl Mosley, he is expected to draw interest from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Fischer.
The Pelicans are currently being led by interim coach James Borrego, who Fischer noted could also be considered for the full-time position.
The Portland Trail Blazers are also operating under an interim leader in Tiago Splitter, who Fischer reports had previously discussed a contract extension prior to Tom Dundon's purchase of the franchise.
Stein and Fischer both also identified candidates who could be staying put despite rumors of their potential departures this offseason.
Stein reported that the Chicago Bulls want to retain Billy Donovan, who had been tied to the UNC head coaching job before the Tar Heels hired former Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone.
Fischer wrote that "there are scenarios" in which the Sacramento Kings bring back Doug Christie despite posting one of the NBA's worse records this offseason.
According to Fischer, Christie has one guaranteed season remaining on his current contract in addition to a team option for 2027-28.
"I've heard that the Kings are still evaluating Christie's future based on the premise that Sacramento's various injury woes have made it difficult to gauge his true capability in the role," Fischer wrote.
The NBA regular season is set to wrap up this Sunday, potentially sparking the start of this offseason's coaching turnover for non-playoff teams ahead of the Tuesday start of the play-in tournament.
