New NFL Rumors on Frontrunner for Super Bowl 63 Host Site Ahead of Owners Meeting Vote
The Super Bowl is reportedly set to return to Sin City in three years.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL is expected to return to Las Vegas for Super Bowl 63 when the league votes on the site of the Big Game in 2029 during next week's annual meeting. One source told Schefter that it's a "matter of formality."

The last Super Bowl held in Las Vegas was Super Bowl 58, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in an instant classic at Allegiant Stadium to cap off the 2023 season. The Chiefs became the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003-04 New England Patriots.
The dome at Allegiant Stadium alleviates any weather concerns for the Big Game, so it's not a surprise that the NFL is motivated to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas. 24 out of 30 votes are needed to approve the location when team owners address the matter at the annual league meetings next week.
In addition to voting on the location for Super Bowl 63, the league will also vote on a list of proposed rule changes. Some of the proposals included changes to onside kicks and contingencies to a referee work stoppage, which ESPN's Kevin Seifert described as "a growing possibility" amid "tense collective bargaining negotiations with the NFL Referees Association."
Surprisingly, the NFL won't be voting on a ban of the infamous Tush Push play at this year's league meeting. Last year, a proposal to ban the play received 22 votes, falling just two shy of the 24 needed for it to pass.
