Is Thomas Haugh a Lottery Pick? Here's What Our Latest 2026 NBA Mock Draft Says

Jonathan WassermanApr 9, 2026

Thomas Haugh started the year on breakout watch after playing a key role in Florida's 2025 national championship run. He backed up the expectations, finishing his junior year at 17.1 points a game with a very NBA-friendly mix of skills and strengths for a 6'9" forward.

His age won't do him any favors on draft night, but he's established himself as a defined stretch-4, a valued archetype that certain teams may specifically be after.

Realistic Draft Range: Late lottery to late first round

Teams focused on finding value within cheap contracts to help them win now could rank Haugh higher. The Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs have win-now timetables with rosters that could use an athletic NBA-ready shooting forward right away.

Of course, the 22-year-old Haugh (who'll turn 23 in July) could also become vulnerable in a draft loaded with quality freshmen and sophomores.

He has a wide range, starting in the late lottery, where certain teams may see an immediate answer for a hole in their rotation.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Jeff Green

Charlotte Hornets v Houston Rockets

Prime Jeff Green was a valuable role player who could play either frontcourt position and provide both shotmaking and athletic finishing. Haugh should occupy a similar role with the same skill set, archetype and physical strengths.

These are connective pieces that can provide complementary scoring, spacing and ball movement.

Teams considering Haugh will likely accept a ceiling that's below All-Star levels. Instead, they'll value his floor, adaptability and potential to elevate certain lineups without needing high usage.

Strengths

3 of 4
Vanderbilt v Florida

Strength 1: Athleticism/motor

Haugh racked up 41 dunks this year, up from 17 a season ago. He flies in transition and easily gets high above the rim. He cuts and uses the offensive glass for offense. At 6'9", his leaping, coordination and motor consistently led to high-percentage finishing opportunities, which is one of the reasons he averaged 17.1 points without much creation skill.

Strength 2: Shooting potential

NBA teams will expect Haugh's shooting percentages to improve, given his 58 made threes and promising eye-test results. He looks natural operating from behind the arc. The gradual improvement from freshman to junior year suggests his shooting development is on an upward track.

Strength 3: Driving potential

He isn't the sharpest ball-handler, but Haugh had enough successful drives for teams to see a well-rounded spot-up weapon. He shows good body control attacking closeouts. His bounce off one foot and coordination led to some poster finishes.

Weaknesses

4 of 4
Florida v Missouri

Weakness 1: Creating

Haugh is strictly an off-ball weapon from the 3 or 4 positions. It's tough to picture a wing, given his lack of ball-handling and creation. He hasn't demonstrated any big-man type offense as a roll man or post player.

Weakness 2: Defensive potential

It's difficult to envision Haugh providing much defensive value. Wings will target him around the perimeter. Bigs will look to punish him around the basket, where he's a limited shot-blocking threat.

Weakness 3: Shooting diversity

Haugh shot 23.5 percent on movement threes and 30.6 percent on pull-up threes. He doesn't offer a lot of shotmaking versatility. For the most part, he's a one-dimensional threat as a stationary, catch-and-shoot forward.
