Eagles, Landon Dickerson Reportedly Agree to Revised Contract After NFL Retirement Rumors
Following some speculation Landon Dickerson might retire, the offensive lineman and Philadelphia Eagles reportedly agreed to a revised contract.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Thursday that Dickerson agreed to a revised two-year deal that will pay him approximately $36 million when he was previously owed $39 million over the next two seasons.
However, he can reach that total with 2027 incentives after he is due $15.7 million in 2026. What's more, he is no longer under contract for the 2028 campaign.
This comes after Dickerson took to social media last month and posted images that made it fairly clear he wouldn't be retiring before the 2026 season:
Offensive lineman Lane Johnson also confirmed he would return to the Eagles, which was quite a welcome development for the unit.
Dickerson is just 27 years old, but he also played through a number of injuries last season. He underwent knee surgery in training camp in addition to back and ankle injuries, although that didn't stop him from playing in 15 games.
Philadelphia selected him with a second-round pick in 2021, and he has been a foundational player along the offensive line since arriving. He has appeared in at least 14 games in each of his five seasons and helped lead the team to the Super Bowl title during the 2024 campaign.
He was also a Pro Bowler in three straight seasons from 2022 through that championship year.
The Eagles would have a major hole up front if Dickerson did decide to retire, so this revised contract is surely a welcome development for their Super Bowl chances moving forward.
