Stephen Curry Gives Injury Update, Latest Status, Timeline for Warriors Star's Return

Zach BacharMar 1, 2026

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry said his ongoing injury recovery will extend "a little longer" as he missed Saturday's 129-101 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"Right now, with this one, it's about each day, can you stack good days? I've done that," he told ESPN's Malika Andrews. "Hopefully, they can unleash me on the court soon and hopefully, get back sooner than later."

Curry previously left the Warriors' 131-124 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 31 due to knee soreness that was eventually diagnosed as runner's knee. He experienced the same issue six days earlier, but played through it.

On Feb. 18, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters that Curry didn't feel his knee was ready for a full workout after the All-Star break.

While the two-time MVP has dealt with several injuries throughout his career, he's been relatively healthy as of late. Curry has appeared in at least 70 games in each of the past two seasons.

The 37-year-old has continued to perform at a high level during his 2025-26 campaign, averaging 27.2 points and 4.8 assists to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game. Curry is also shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from behind the arc while attempting 11.5 triples on a nightly basis.

Golden State has already been impacted by injuries this year, as Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending torn ACL on Jan. 19.

The Warriors currently hold the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference standings with a 31-29 record.

Until Curry returns, guards Brandin Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton will maintain larger roles as part of Kerr's rotation.
